The rugged men’s work shirt has been refined into a fashion statement; and the traditional chambray button-down shirt has now become a wardrobe staple. The classic shirt has a tailored silhouette and comes in a variety of shades of denim. It can be outfitted in a multitude of ways – here are just a few ways I have carried my chambray shirt into the fall/winter season.
I love this outfit – I call it my “Scottish countryside look”. For some reason, I envision a woman there wearing something like this. I love the mix of textures & color. The chambray shirt is worn underneath a bright red chunky cable knit cardigan and paired with olive skinny jeans, accessorized with an ivory linen scarf with gold palettes to add even more texture.
A bit above your basic business attire, in this outfit the chambray shirt is worn under a hunter green patterned wool blazer and paired with ivory suede pants. The cognac pumps correspond with the buttons on the jacket while the pearls associate with the trousers.
Do you own a chambray shirt? If so, what is your favorite way to wear it?
